Rapid STD Testing: prices and how it works

Lab testing service

Rapid STD Testing sells lab STD tests online or by phone. You give samples at a partner lab such as Quest Diagnostics. It offers a 4-infection Basic Panel, a 10-test panel (also with HIV RNA) and single tests, with results in a private account in 1–2 business days.

Best for: People who want one all-in price for a lab test or a smaller 4-infection panel, with phone support at any hour.

Every current price

Every test and panel Rapid STD Testing sells that we track, grouped by how you give your sample.

Lab visit

How it works

  1. Order a test or panel online or by phone (open 24 hours) and choose a lab; the doctor's order is included.
  2. Your order reaches the lab within minutes, so you can go the same day with no appointment.
  3. Give a blood and/or urine sample at the lab.
  4. See results in your private account in 1–2 business days, or call to have them read to you.

Results, privacy and payment

Results
Results post to your private online account 1–2 business days after the lab visit, with an email that only says they are ready. A few tests take longer, and you are told which ones when you order. Results are never mailed or texted; you can call to have them read to you.
Privacy
Rapid STD Testing does not bill insurance, mails nothing and does not text results. Card charges show as "RSC Health". Positive results for reportable infections are reported to public health as required by law, even when the test is ordered online.
Insurance and payment
Cash pay only; insurance, Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted. Accepts major credit and debit cards, PayPal, HSA/FSA cards and prepaid cards.
Physician consultation
A physician's lab order is included in the price. If a result is positive, the care team arranges a physician phone consultation for a separate fee that is explained on the call. The physician can prescribe for chlamydia and trichomoniasis; gonorrhea and syphilis need an in-person injection, and herpes, HIV and hepatitis are referred for ongoing care. Medication is paid at the pharmacy.

Pros

  • The listed price includes the doctor's order, lab visit and results; checkout totals matched the listed prices.
  • Sells a 4-infection Basic Panel (chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV) as well as a 10-test panel.
  • You can go to the lab the same day you order; phone support is available 24 hours a day.
  • Accepts HSA/FSA cards.

Cons

  • Most single tests are sold at one flat price, whatever the infection; compare it in the price table.
  • The physician consultation after a positive result is a separate fee that the site does not list.
  • Gonorrhea and syphilis treatment needs an in-person injection, billed by the clinic that gives it.
  • Cancelling within 21 days is refunded minus a 25% fee.
