Results, privacy and consultations

Priority STD Testing

Results
Results, including partial results, are posted to a secure login for your order, with an email when final results are ready, typically 24–72 hours after the lab visit. Trichomoniasis takes 2–4 business days and Mycoplasma genitalium 3–5 business days. You can also hear results by phone from a care counselor.
Privacy
Priority STD Testing does not bill insurance and says nothing is mailed to your home or sent to your healthcare provider. Card charges show as "SFHT". Positive results for reportable infections are reported to public health as required by law, even when the test is ordered online.
Physician consultation
A physician reviews and authorizes each lab order as part of the price. After a positive result, a follow-up physician consultation is offered at no extra cost. For chlamydia, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis a physician can prescribe treatment by phone for a separate consult fee (included for people in New York).

Rapid STD Testing

Results
Results post to your private online account 1–2 business days after the lab visit, with an email that only says they are ready. A few tests take longer, and you are told which ones when you order. Results are never mailed or texted; you can call to have them read to you.
Privacy
Rapid STD Testing does not bill insurance, mails nothing and does not text results. Card charges show as "RSC Health". Positive results for reportable infections are reported to public health as required by law, even when the test is ordered online.
Physician consultation
A physician's lab order is included in the price. If a result is positive, the care team arranges a physician phone consultation for a separate fee that is explained on the call. The physician can prescribe for chlamydia and trichomoniasis; gonorrhea and syphilis need an in-person injection, and herpes, HIV and hepatitis are referred for ongoing care. Medication is paid at the pharmacy.
