Everlywell: prices and how it works

Home test kits

Everlywell sells mail-in home STD kits (a 5-panel and single tests) and, through Quest, in-person lab panels with results in about 1–2 days. The home 5-panel covers chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis C, syphilis and trichomoniasis but not HIV; for HIV it sells an OraQuick rapid home test and an in-person Quest test.

Best for: People who want a home kit for common bacterial STIs, or an in-person Quest panel that includes HIV.

Every current price

Every test and panel Everlywell sells that we track, grouped by how you give your sample.

Home kit

How it works

  1. Order online; home kits ship free in plain packaging.
  2. Register the kit, then collect a urine sample and/or finger-prick blood at home.
  3. Mail it back with the prepaid label.
  4. Get physician-reviewed results in your online account.
  5. Or buy an in-person panel and give your sample at a Quest location.

Results, privacy and payment

Results
Results go to your secure Everlywell account, with an email when ready. Mailed kits: typically within 5–7 business days of the lab processing the sample. In-person Quest panels: typically 1–2 days. OraQuick is read at home in about 20 minutes; Visby results come through its app in about 30 minutes.
Privacy
Home kits ship with only a shipping label and no test name. Everlywell says it never sells health data and does not share results with other healthcare providers or insurance companies. Positive results for reportable infections are reported to public health as required by law, even when the test is ordered online.
Insurance and payment
Cash pay: "We are not contracted with any insurance companies at this time." HSA/FSA cards are accepted at checkout.
Physician consultation
Tests are ordered and results reviewed by an independent physician network. For positive chlamydia, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis results, a clinician treatment consult is included at no extra cost; for hepatitis C or syphilis it is an educational session without treatment. In-person tests include a clinician consultation and treatment where applicable. Medication cost is not stated.

Pros

  • Sells single-infection home tests as well as the 5-panel; FSA/HSA cards are accepted.
  • A clinician treatment consult for positive chlamydia, gonorrhea or trichomoniasis results is included at no extra cost.
  • In-person Quest panels include HIV, with results in about 1–2 days and fees included.
  • Rapid options: OraQuick HIV (about 20 minutes) and the Visby PCR test for women (about 30 minutes).

Cons

  • The home 5-panel does not test for HIV or herpes.
  • Mailed-kit results typically take 5–7 business days after the lab processes the sample.
  • Whether a product is sold in your state is shown only at checkout.
  • No insurance billing.
