LetsGetChecked: prices and how it works
Home test kits
LetsGetChecked sells at-home collection kits that you mail to its certified lab, with results about 2–5 days after the lab receives the sample. Its US STD range is Simple 2 (chlamydia and gonorrhea), Standard 5, Complete 8 and a herpes antibody test. It does not currently sell an HIV test in the US.
Best for: People who mainly need chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis or syphilis screening from home and can mail a sample on a weekday.

How it works
- Order online; the kit arrives free in a plain envelope.
- Activate the kit, then collect your sample on a weekday morning (urine or vaginal swab, plus finger-prick blood for some tests).
- Send it back the same day with the prepaid label.
- View results in your online account about 2–5 days after the lab receives the sample.
Results, privacy and payment
- Results
- Results are posted to your secure online account and app about 2–5 days after your sample arrives at the lab. Samples must be collected on a weekday morning and shipped the same day.
- Privacy
- Kits arrive in a plain envelope with no LetsGetChecked branding visible. The company says it shares information only where needed to provide its services or where it has a legal basis. Positive results for reportable infections are reported to public health as required by law, even when the test is ordered online.
- Insurance and payment
- Cash pay: "We don't accept insurance at this time." Many FSA and HSA cards are accepted at checkout.
- Physician consultation
- A clinician reviews results, and people with positive results get a call from the clinical team. Treatment (for chlamydia, and on the larger panels trichomoniasis and Mycoplasma) needs a paid virtual consultation, and medication costs extra. Not available in AK, DC, GA, IN, KS, MS, NM or WV. Gonorrhea is not treated; it needs an injection from a local provider.
Pros
- Free shipping both ways.
- Simple 2 (chlamydia and gonorrhea) is FDA-authorized for home collection.
- Results about 2–5 days after the lab receives your sample.
- Accepts FSA/HSA cards.
Cons
- No HIV test is currently offered in the US, and Standard 5 and Complete 8 do not test for HIV or hepatitis C.
- Standard 5 and Complete 8 are not available in New York.
- Treatment costs extra (a paid consultation plus medication), is not offered in AK, DC, GA, IN, KS, MS, NM or WV, and does not cover gonorrhea.
- Samples must be collected and shipped on the same weekday.
