Privacy policy

In short. We don't collect health information. You can't create an account here, and we don't ask for your name or email to use the site. When you click through to a testing provider, we log the click without your IP address and without a tracking cookie.

What we don't collect

• No health information. We never ask about symptoms, exposures, test results or sexual history.
• No tool answers. The which-test recommender and the when-to-test calculator run entirely in your browser. Your answers and dates are never sent to us, and nothing is saved when you leave the page.
• No IP addresses in our database.
• No tracking cookies and no advertising pixels.

What we record when you click to a provider

Links to testing providers go through a redirect on our site, at an address that starts with /go/. When you use one, we store one record with:

• The time of the click.
• The provider and the specific offer you clicked.
• The page on our site where you clicked, plus a short code for which link on that page it was.
• The language version of the page, English or Spanish.
• Your country, as reported by our hosting provider from the request. We don't store anything more precise than the country.
• Your device type, such as mobile or desktop.
• The domain name of the page that sent the click, without the full address.
• A code made from your browser's user-agent string and the date. It changes every day and can't be turned back into the original. It lets us count repeat clicks from the same browser on the same day only once. We don't store the user-agent itself.

We also note whether the link was an affiliate link and which provider domain it sent you to.

We use these records to count how many people visit each provider, to fix broken links and to reconcile commissions with affiliate networks. None of it identifies you. We delete click records automatically after 13 months.

Analytics

If we turn on site analytics, we will use a privacy-friendly, cookieless service such as Plausible. Plausible says it doesn't use cookies or persistent visitor identifiers and doesn't store raw IP addresses or user-agent strings. We will update this page if we enable analytics or change the service.

Our service providers

• Hosting: Vercel. Vercel runs our website and handles every request to it. Like any web host, it processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site, under its own privacy notice. We use a country code that Vercel derives from the request. We don't receive or store the IP address itself.
• Database: Neon. Our price data and click records are stored in a Neon Postgres database. Neon is part of Databricks, whose privacy notice covers it.

When you leave our site

When you follow a link to a provider, the provider's own privacy policy applies from that point. Many providers and affiliate networks use cookies to see that you came from us, and they may set them when our redirect passes you on. We don't control those cookies. Read the provider's privacy policy before you order, because you'll be giving them personal and health information to place an order.

Children

This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children, and we don't collect personal information from anyone.

Your choices

Because we don't store information that identifies you, we can't look up, export or delete records about you. To avoid even this click record, you can go to a provider's site directly instead of using our links.

Changes

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
